Differences Between Lip Gloss & Lipstick

Differences Between Lip gloss & Lipstick

Most would argue that lipstick stays longer on your lips because a well-branded lipstick can stay on your lips the whole day with just one application. Nonetheless, if lip gloss is your thing there are many lip glosses on the market that have proven that glosses have the capability or surviving time instead of constantly needing to be reapplied to keep that “popping look” you took your time creating that day. Obvious differences between the two are lip gloss is usually made using a gel base and provides a glossy texture over the lip. It is thick and can be lightly pigmented. The glossy and most times sticky gel forms a barrier between your lips and the outside elements. Lipstick also forms a barrier between your lips and any outside elements but it does not have any gel/stickiness to it. Both lipstick and lip gloss can be drying if enough oils are not used during the manufacturing process. To prevent this some can choose to apply chapstick prior to applying their lip gloss or lipstick and some people choose to apply lip gloss over their lipstick because the combinations are endless. With today’s market both lipstick and lip gloss can be found in pretty much every color, you can imagine.
